Welcome

Each year, Virgin Unite brings 10 Virgin staff from around the world to South Africa for a week of hands on volunteering.

This year’s trip is taking place in April 19-24, 2009. We’ll be working alongside Pride ‘n Purpose, the charitable arm of Ulusaba, Sir Richard Branson's game reserve in the rural Mpumalanga province.

Pride 'n Purpose works on a non-profit basis and is committed to the upliftment of disadvantaged communities living adjacent to the reserve. They assist wtih basic needs such as food, water, and health services, while also helping people to help themselves through education, social and economic empowerment.

Our group will help build an eco-friendly nursery school for local children. Currently, the children have to cross over an operating train track to get to the nearest school, and to date there have been a few accidents on the tracks. The community approached Pride ‘n Purpose for help in constructing a new school for the kids.

This year, we are asking for your help to cover some of the costs of building the school. Click here to visit our donation page. Every little bit helps and is greatly appreciated!

Stay tuned for updates over the coming weeks on our winners, the eco-build and more as we finalise our plans and get ready to hit the road.
